Dr Barve was the first lecturer in Gastrenterology to be appointed in four Medical Colleges in Mumbai
Dr Barve is one of the Senior Gastroenterologists in Mumbai who is well known for
not only his skills in endoscopy but also his ability to make accurate clinical diagnosis.
He has delivered innumerable lectures in IMA (Indian Medical Association) on importance of History taking and Clinical Diagnosis.
His philosophy is “to treat the patient and the family in the given socio-economic
status rather than barrel vision of investigations and treatment of the disease”.

Overseas Assignments :
Dr. Barve initiated a campaign for creating awareness about Hepatitis B.
He is associated with WHO for Hepatitis Eradication Program
all over India with the support of Government of India, Mr. J. P. Nadda,
the Honorable Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare.
Dr Barve has involved Mr Amitabh Bachchan as a brand ambassador for WHO in south east Asia.
This campaign will help in early detection and prevention of complications
of Hepatitis B by creating awareness about Hepatitis B vaccination.
Govt. Of India has sanctioned more than Rs. 800 crores for eradication of Hepatitis B & management of Hepatitis B.
