Barrett's esophagus is a pre-cancerous condition of the esophagus Barrett's esophagus is a condition
in which the flat pink lining of the esophagus becomes damaged by chronic acid reflux and is
replaced by reddish lining of the stomach.
Barrett's esophagus itself usually does not cause symptoms. Most patients experience symptoms
of GERD such as heartburn, acid reflux, difficulty swallowing, or chest discomfort.
It is believed that cause of Barrett's esophagus to be related to chronic
gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). GERD is a condition where stomach
acid flows back up into the esophagus, causing heartburn and other symptoms.

It cannot be completely reversed, it can be managed and prevented from progressing to cancer.
